Cheats in Our Games ?I've just been reading a post on FaceBook critical of the UK gaming society which was the Camarilla UK. This is a
part of what was written:
"it will be even more corrupt with the same old cronies getting everything and dominating the game...
"sorry your wrong, ive seen it myself, people that are mates with the ST chain blatantly cheating and complaints against them being dismissed over and over, it what finally drove some member to loose their temper and breach the code of conduct and loose their memebership"I tried to respond to this, but the author decided to delete my reply off her FaceBook Wall.
I'm really sad that the person concerned wants to judge the new society by the what was
an experience of the old society. I'm also sad they wouldn't let my response stand on their wall. I am, though going to respond here.
These are my thoughts on the subject...
* No game is totally without cheats. Not even tiddley winks !
* I spent (too many) years having to try my best to be 'Solomon'. You can NEVER please all of the people all of the time. If you manage a majority of the people most of the time you are performing miracles by human standards.
* I am reminded of the saying "There's always their truth, your truth and The Truth"
I'm sorry my friend has such a jaundiced opinion of the old Camarilla UK. I'm also sad that she won't even allow the new society to take it's first breath before she starts slamming it. At the end of the day, it's a GAME. I'll quote someone else here...
"No matter how upset you get, no matter how irrational the initial reaction to getting your nose a little out of joint is, you are not allowed to lose sight of the fact that there is no possible way anything that happens in pretendy fun time games can actually be important. It is not, nor will it ever be, a big deal".And yes, I understand the irony which derives from me getting my knickers in a twist over what my friend said about one of my favourite games and most favoiurite gaming society.
